PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform and complete preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
· Create and maintain preventive maintenance procedures and logs.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
· Familiarity with both manual and CNC machine tool installations.
· Evaluate, troubleshoot, diagnose equipment problems and recommend repairs.
· Must work closely with Materials and Plant Managers.
· Establish a relationship with vendors and work with them in repairing the equipment.
· Able to read and understand parts and service manuals to recommend repairs of equipment.
· Will be required to work both independently and within a team environment.
· Complete all related paperwork, including maintaining equipment logs.
· Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
· At least 2 years of equipment repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with metal and copper fabrication equipment is a plus.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL:
Physical Demands:
Activities: Sitting – 10% Walking/Standing – 90%
Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Bending: Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items
Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
