Position Summary
Lucy School seeks a passionate and collaborative Elementary Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. We’re looking for a creative educator who embraces student-centered learning, integrates the arts into instruction, and contributes positively to our close-knit school community.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in core academic subjects for Grade 1 elementary-aged students
Integrate arts and experiential learning into the curriculum to enrich students’ academic and creative development.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support student growth.
Collaborate regularly with colleagues, specialists, and teaching artists to support interdisciplinary projects and school programs.
Foster a classroom environment that reflects Lucy School’s values of curiosity, respect, community, and environmental stewardship.
Communicate effectively with families and participate in school events and community activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
Maryland teaching certification or equivalent preferred
Strong commitment to creative and student-centered pedagogy.
Passion for arts-infused teaching and integrating experiential learning into daily instruction.
Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset to thrive in collaborative planning and community building.
Experience working with diverse learners and supporting social-emotional development.
Preferred Attributes
A love for nature and willingness to engage students in outdoor and environmental learning.
Experience with project-based learning, process drama, arts integration, or interdisciplinary curriculum design.
Interest in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
